The Toronto Raptors came through with their most dominant win of the 2023-24 National Basketball Association season on Wednesday. They clobbered the Washington Wizards by 30 points, 132-102 to improve to a record of 12 wins and 18 losses.
The Raptors were led on Wednesday by OG Anunoby, who had 26 points. In fact all five Raptors starters reached double figures in points. Pascal Siakam had 22 points, Scottie Barnes had 20 points, Gary Trent Jr. had 12 points, and Jakob Poeltl had 10 points. Two Raptors had double doubles, as Barnes had 12 rebounds, and Siakam had 11 assists. Dennis Schroder was also productive off the bench, as he had 10 assists and was an impressive +29.
This was the second time this season the Raptors beat their opponent by 20 points or more. The first time came on November 19, when they beat the Detroit Pistons, 142-113. In the 29-point Raptors win six weeks ago, seven Raptors players reached double digits in scoring. Siakam had 23 points, Trent Jr. had 18 points, Schroder and Barnes had 17 points each, Poeltl had 16 points, Chris Boucher of Montreal, Quebec had 14 points, and Precious Achiuwa had 12 points. Poeltl had a double double as he had 10 rebounds. With the win, the Raptors are 11th in the Eastern Conference, and one game back of the Chicago Bulls for a spot in the play-in tournament.
