The Canadian Football League announced on Wednesday that the 2022 Grey Cup will be played at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. This will be the fourth time that Regina will have hosted the Grey Cup. They previously hosted the Canadian Football League championship game in 1995, 2003, and 2013.

The 2020 Grey Cup was supposed to be played at Mosaic Stadium in Regina as well. However, due to the coronavirus, the Canadian Football League has altered its plans for the season. If there is a season in 2020, and we do not know if there will be one due to this horrendous coronavirus disease, then the Grey Cup will be played in the CFL stadium of the Grey Cup participant with the best record.

Now, it will be interesting to see what happens if the two teams that are in the 2020 Grey Cup have the same record, and how the CFL will decide who will host the game. So, it is entirely possible that the 2020 Grey Cup could still be played in Regina after all. We just do not know if any fans will be allowed in the stands. If they are, it is unlikely CFL teams will be allowed to fill their stadium.

The CFL has also cancelled the Grey Cup Festival in 2020. Hamilton will still host the 2021 Grey Cup. There are currently 80, 081 cases of coronavirus in Canada. There are also 6027 deaths with the province of Quebec being the hardest hit province to date.
