There is no doubt after four days at the 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Calgary, one of the biggest stories has been the play of Team Quebec, skipped by Laurie St-Georges of Laval. A day after a huge comeback against Prince Edward Island, St-Georges delivered a huge upset, as the team from the Laval-sur-le-Lac Curling Club in Laval, and the Glenmore Curling Club in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, upset Team Fleury skipped by two-time Scotties champion Chelsea Carey of Winnipeg, 8-7.

The win by St-Georges was one of three upsets on Monday. The others saw Saskatchewan stunning Manitoba 5-4 and the third Wildcard team, skipped by Beth Peterson of Winnipeg, defeating Team Alberta 6-4.

Two teams remain undefeated. They are Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba (representing Team Canada as the defending champion), and Ontario’s Rachel Homan. Both teams are 4-0. Team Canada defeated the Northwest Territories 8-4 on Monday morning, while Ontario defeated Nova Scotia 8-3 on Monday night.

In Pool B, there are currently five teams at only one loss. Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Carey’s Wildcard Team are at three wins, and one loss, while Newfoundland and Saskatchewan are at two wins and one loss. Quebec is in first because they have beaten Carey and Prince Edward Island.
