PWHL expansion franchises sign four notable Canadians

The PWHL expansion franchises signed four notable Canadians on Friday. Hamilton signed forward Brianne Jenner of Oakville, Ontario, and goaltender Kayle Osborne of Westport, Ontario, Detroit signed forward Daryl Watts of Toronto, Ontario, and San Jose signed goaltender Corinne Schroeder of Elm Creek, Manitoba.

Jenner won a gold medal for Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. She is joining her second PWHL franchise after playing the last three seasons with the Ottawa Charge. This past season, Jenner had 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 30 games.

Osborne is joining her second season after playing the last two years with the New York Sirens. This past year, she had a record of 11 wins, 14 regulation losses and two losses in extra time with four shutouts, a goals against average of 2.47 and a save percentage of .906.

Watts is joining her third PWHL franchise. She was with Ottawa in 2024, and the last two seasons with the Toronto Sceptres. In 2025-26, Watts had 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points in 27 games.

Schroeder is joining her third PWHL franchise. She was with New York for two seasons from 2024 to 2025, and this past season with the Seattle Torrent in 2025-26. In 2025-26, Schroeder had a record of five wins, eight regulation losses and four losses in extra time. She had a goals against average of 2.56 and a save percentage of .915.
