According to Rogers Sportsnet on Tuesday, the Nashville Predators have traded centre Cody Glass of Winnipeg, Manitoba to the Pittsburgh Penguins. In addition to Glass, the Penguins received a third round pick in the 2025 National Hockey League Draft and a sixth round draft pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. The Predators meanwhile received prospect Jordan Frasca of Brampton, Ontario in return. It is interesting that the Predators acquired a player without NHL experience for three players.
Glass is joining his third NHL franchise. He played two seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights from 2019 to 2021, and the last three seasons with the Nashville Predators.
In 2023-24, Glass had six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 41 games. He was a -9 with 20 penalty minutes, one game-winning goal, one power-play point, 82 shots on goal, 100 faceoff wins, 20 blocked shots, 31 hits, 15 takeaways and 18 giveaways.
Glass’s game-winning goal came on March 2, in a game where the Predators beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-1. Glass scored from defenseman Alexandre Carrier of Quebec City, Quebec and Thomas Novak. Interestingly, in the same contest, Glass had his first career hat trick.
Frasca spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. He was with the Windsor Spitfires for two seasons and the Kingston Frontenacs for two seasons.
