Noah Gregor records first career NHL hat trick

San Jose Sharks center Noah Gregor of Beaumont, Alberta recorded his first career National Hockey League hat trick on Saturday. He accomplished the feat in a 7-2 Sharks victory over the Arizona Coyotes at the Mullett Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

Gregor opened the scoring from Nico Sturm only 90 seconds into the game. He the put the Sharks up 4-1 at the eight minute mark of the third period. Sturm also had the assist on that goal too. Gregor’s hat trick put the Sharks up 7-1. He scored from Kevin Labanc and Erik Karlsson at 14:47 of the third period.

Gregor was one of two Canadians to score for the Sharks and one of two Canadians to have a multi-point game. The other was Logan Couture of Guelph, Ontario, who had one goal and one assist for two points.

In 2022-23, Gregor has eight goals and six assists for 14 points. He is a -7 with 32 penalty minutes, one game-winning goal, one shorthanded point, 105 shots on goal, seven faceoff wins, 32 blocked shots, 86 hits, 21 takeaways and nine giveaways. Gregor’s game-winning goal came in a 3-0 Sharks shutout win over the Winnipeg Jets on March 28. He scored from Jacob Peterson and Fabian Zetterlund at 9:51 of the first period.

Gregor is the third Shark this season to record a hat trick. He follows Erik Karlsson and Timo Meier.
