The London Knights have won the 2024 J. Ross Robertson Cup. On Wednesday, the Knights clobbered the Oshawa Generals 7-1 to win the Ontario Hockey League Championship, and win the best out of seven series four games to none.
In game four at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario, the Knights were led by right winger Easton Cowan of Mount Brydges, Ontario. Cowan had one goal and three assists for four points.
Five more Knights had a multi-point game. Right winger Kasper Halttunen had two goals and one assist for three points. Left winger Denver Barkley of Newmarket, Ontario, had one goal and two assists for three points, defenseman and assistant captain Jackson Edward of Newmarket had three assists, centre William Nicholl of Manotick had one goal and one assist for two points, and right winger Ruslan Gazizov had one goal and one assist for two points. The other Knights goal scorer was defenseman Sam Dickinson of Toronto, Ontario.
London dominated Oshawa in the four games, outscoring them 31-9. The Knights have now won five J. Ross Robertson Cups. They previously won in 2005, 2012, 2013, and 2016. The 2024 Memorial Cup starts May 24 in Saginaw, Michigan. London’s first game is on May 25 against the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League champion Drummondville Voltigeurs.
