Logan Hay qualifies for Showdown Sunday in saddle bronc at 2026 Calgary Stampede

Logan Hay of Wildwood, Alberta has qualified for Showdown Sunday in the saddle bronc at the 2026 Calgary Stampede. On Wednesday, Hay had the second best score, and finished in third place in the Pool B standings.

Hay had a score of 84.5 points. He only finished behind fellow Canadian Quinten Taylor, who had a score of 86 points. By finishing second on Getting Frisky, Hay won $5000. Taylor won $7000.

However, even though Taylor was strong on Wednesday, he struggled in the first two performances and did not qualify for the Showdown Sunday according to Julie Patton of Okotoks Online. Taylor did not post a score on Monday as he was bucked off, and then was only ninth on Tuesday with 72 points.

Hay finished third in the Pool B standings with $8750.00. Coleman Shallbetter of Gunnison, Colorado was in first place with $14000. Gus Gallard of Morse, Texas was in second place with $9000.

In the Rangeland Derby, Jason Glass of High River, Alberta had the fastest time for the second straight night. After having a chuckwagon racing time of 1:10.45 on Tuesday, he had a time of 1:11.14 on Wednesday. Glass is now in fourth place in the aggregate standings with a time of 7:18.41. The aggregate leader after six days is Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, with a time of 7:14.38.
