Justin Kripps of Summerland, British Columbia is now adding a bronze medal to the gold medal he won at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. On Sunday at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing (Saturday evening in Canada), Kripps and his brakemen of Ben Coakwell of Regina, Saskatchewan, Ryan Sommer of White Rock, British Columbia, and Cam Stones of Oshawa, Ontario posted a third place time of 3:55.09 in the four-man bobsled event.

The German team driven by the great Francesco Friedrich won the gold medal with a time of 3:54.30. Meanwhile, Johannes Lochner guided another German sled to a second place time of 3:54.67. Kripps actually prevented a German sweep as Christoph Hafer of Germany finished in fourth place with a time of 3:55.15. Kripps actually won a medal by six one-hundredths of a second.

In the final run, Kripps maintained green numbers throughout. However near the end of the run, it was nerve wracking, as one time split had Kripps only leading Hafer by two one-hundredths of a second, and another split had Kripps leading Hafer by one one-hundredth of a second. It should be noted that Germany swept the medal standings in the two-man competition at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

With the bronze medal, Canada won 26 medals at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. They won four gold medals, eight silver medals and 14 bronze medals.
