Jordan Kyrou records fourth career NHL hat trick

St. Louis Blues centre Jordan Kyrou of Toronto, Ontario recorded his fourth career National Hockey League hat trick on Saturday. He accomplished the feat in a 5-4 Blues overtime win over the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Kyrou’s first goal tied the game at two from Pavel Buchnevich at 12:49 of the second period. Kyrou then tied the game at three from Buchnevich and Brandon Saad at 3:50 of the third period, and then put the Blues up 4-3 from Saad and Buchnevich at 10:01 of the third period.

Kyrou was one of two Canadians to score for the Blues. The other was Jake Neighbours of Calgary, Alberta.

Kyrou’s first career NHL hat trick came in a 5-1 Blues win over the Vancouver Canucks on December 19, 2022. He also accomplished the feat in a 5-2 Blues win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 11, 2023, and in a 5-2 Blues win over the New York Rangers on January 11, 2024.

In 2023-24, Kyrou has 25 goals and 31 assists for 56 points in 71 games. He is a -9 with 22 penalty minutes, 16 power-play points, three game-winning goals, 214 shots on goal, three faceoff wins, 31 blocked shots, 24 hits, 45 takeaways and 43 giveaways.

With the win, the Blues improve to a record of 38 wins, 30 regulation losses and three losses in extra time for 79 points. They are four points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
