Four Canadians contribute to touchdowns for winning teams in Week 18 of CFL season

The 18th week of the Canadian Football League regular season is now complete, and four Canadians recorded touchdowns on winning teams. They were Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Clark Barnes of Brampton, Ontario, Stampeders wide receiver Damien Alford of Montreal, Quebec, Stampeders wide receiver Jalen Philpot of Delta, British Columbia and Montreal Alouettes tight end Rohan Jones of Montreal.

Barnes had a 13 yard touchdown catch from Vernon Adams Jr. to open the scoring in a 37-31 Stampeders win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday. The major score came at 3:24 of the first quarter. Barnes finished the game with three catches for 36 receiving yards. In 2026, Barnes has 39 catches for 645 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Alford had a 48 yard touchdown catch from Adams Jr. at 9:03 of the first quarter to put the Stampeders up 14-7 at the time. It was Alford’s only catch in the game. For the season, Alford has eight catches for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Philpot had a four yard touchdown catch from Adams Jr. with five minutes and 19 seconds left in the game. At the time, the Stampeders went up 31-13. For the game, Philpot had eight catches for 72 receiving yards and one rush for four yards. For the season, Philpot has 79 catches for 1114 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches and 10 rushes for 30 rushing yards.

Jones had a 14 yard touchdown catch from Davis Alexander to open the scoring in a 37-10 Alouettes win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday. Jones had two catches for 20 yards in the game, and has five catches for 54 receiving yards and one touchdown during the season. With the win, the Alouettes improved to a record of 12 wins and three losses, and have clinched first place in the East.
