Canadian Olympic gold medalist Cassie Sharpe of Calgary, Alberta won the bronze medal on Sunday in the women’s halfpipe skiing event at the 2025 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in Engadin, Switzerland. For Sharpe, it was her third career medal at the World Championships.

Sharpe posted a third place score of 88 points. Zoe Atkin of Great Britain won the gold medal with 93.5 points. Fanghui Li of China won the silver medal with 93 points. Sharpe reached the podium by 1.75 points over fellow Canadian Rachael Karker of Guelph, Ontario. Karker finished in fourth place with 86.25 points.

Sharpe’s two previous halfpipe skiing medals at the World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships were silver medals. She first accomplished the feat in 2015 in Kreischberg, Austria, and then again in 2019 in Park City, Utah.

This was the final day of the 2025 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships. Team Canada won eight medals overall (three gold, two silver and three bronze). That was the fourth most medals overall, as Canada was behind Japan (17 medals), the United States (12 medals), and Switzerland (nine medals).

Sharpe won the gold medal in women’s halfpipe at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. Her bronze medal in Engadin will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
