Cam Talbot of Caledonia, Ontario recorded his 26th career National Hockey League shutout on Monday. Talbot made 28 saves as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Talbot made six saves in the first period, 13 saves in the second period, and nine saves in the third period. Jonathan Marchessault of Quebec City, Quebec, and Jack Eichel both led the Golden Knights with five shots on goal.

Nicolas Deslauriers of Lasalle, Quebec scored the game-winning goal for the Wild at 5:43 of the first period from Tyson Jost of St. Albert, Alberta and Brandon Duhaime. This was the first point for Deslauriers and Jost for the Wild. Both players came to Minnesota at the trade deadline. Deslauriers was traded from the Anaheim Ducks and Jost was traded from the Colorado Avalanche.  A second Canadian scored for the Wild. Mathew Dumba of Regina, Saskatchewan put the Wild up 2-0.
