According to the Canadian Press on Thursday, the Cleveland Browns have named Catherine Raiche of Montreal, Quebec their new assistant general manager. Raiche, who is only 33 years of age, is now the highest-ranked female football executive in the entire National Football League according to Ian Rapoport of nfl.com.
Raiche has been working in the NFL since 2019. She was with the Philadelphia Eagles the last four years. Raiche was the Eagles’ football operations co-ordinator from 2019 to 2021, and was also the Eagles’ vice president of football operations in 2021 and 2022. From 2019 to 2021, the Eagles had a record of 22 wins, 26 losses and one tie, with two playoff appearances. In 2020, the Eagles lost the NFC Wildcard 17-9 to the Seattle Seahawks, and in 2022, the Eagles lost 31-15 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Raiche, who has a law degree at the University of Sherbrooke, and masters in taxation, has plenty of Canadian Football League experience too. She was with the Montreal Alouettes as their co-ordinator of football administration from 2015 to 2017, and with the Alouettes as their assistant general manager in 2017. Then in 2018 and 2019, Raiche was the Toronto Argonauts’ director of football administration.
This past season, the Browns missed the playoffs with a record of eight wins and nine losses. The team definitely underachieved as they went to the AFC Divisional Playoff just a year earlier.
