The Chicago Blackhawks have traded left winger Brandon Hagel of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to the Tampa Bay Lightning for right winger Taylor Raddysh of Caledon, Ontario and Boris Katchouk of Vancouver, British Columbia, according to Igor Nikonov of SB Nation. In addition to Hagel, the Lightning will receive the fourth round draft picks in the 2022 and 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft from the Blackhawks. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks will receive the the first round draft pick in the 2003 and 2004 NHL Entry Draft from the Lightning.
Hagel has played the last three seasons with the Blackhawks. In 55 games in 2021-22, he has 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points. Hagel also was -14 with 23 penalty minutes, six power-play points, three game-winning goals, one shorthanded point, 94 shots on goal, 12 faceoff wins, 25 blocked shots, 42 hits, 39 takeaways, and 25 giveaways. Hagel’s shorthanded point was an assist on a goal by Canadian Olympic gold medalist Jonathan Toews of Winnipeg, Manitoba at 19:32 of the first period in an 8-3 Blackhawks win over the Anaheim Ducks on March 8. Toews won the gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
Raddysh was in his first season with the Lightning. In 53 games, he had five goals and seven assists for 12 points. He was a +5 with eight penalty minutes, one shorthanded point, one game-winning goal, one power-play point, 61 shots on goal, six faceoff wins, 17 blocked shots, 62 hits, 14 takeaways, and five giveaways. Raddysh’s shorthanded goal came in a 3-2 Tampa Bay win over the Boston Bruins on December 4 from Mikhail Sergachev. Raddysh’s game-winning goal came in a 5-3 Tampa Bay win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 9, 2021 from Steven Stanmkos of Markham, Ontario and Ondrej Palat. Raddysh’s power play point was a power play assist on a goal by Victor Hedman in a 2-1 Lightning win over the Ottawa Senators on December 16, 2021. Katchouk had two goals and four assists for six points.
