Zeke Thurston and Grady Young take Pool B lead at 2025 Calgary Stampede

Day five is now complete at the 2025 Calgary Stampede and two Canadians have the lead in the Pool B standings. Zeke Thurston of Big Valley, Alberta is the leader in the saddle bronc, and Grady Young of Leader, Saskatchewan is the leader in the bull riding.

In the saddle bronc, Thurston had the second best score on Tuesday. He had 88.5 points on Borderline Untimely, and in the process won $4, 416.67. Thurston posted the same score as Allen Boore of Axtell, Utah and Zachary Dallas of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The day five winner was Brody Wells of Powell, Wyoming, who had a score of 89.5 points on Ginger Snap. It was the second straight day Thurston was in second place. He finished behind Damian Brennan of Injune, Australia on Monday. In the overall standings, Thurston now has the Pool B lead with $9,916.67. Brennan is in second place with $7,0000.

In the bull riding, two Canadians placed in the top three on Tuesday. Grady Young of Leader, Saskatchewan had the best score for the second straight day. He had a score of 87 points on the bull Shake it Off and in the process won $7200. William Barrows of Foremost, Alberta tied for the third best score of 83 points and won $4075. Jesse Petri of Dublin, Texas also had 83 points. Trey Benton III of Richards, Texas finished in second place with 86 points. Young is the aggregate leader at $14,400. Barrows is tied for fourth with Petri at $4075.00.

In the 2025 Rangeland Derby, Chad Fike of Cremona, Alberta had the fastest time on Tuesday of 1:10.85. Chanse Vigen of Calgary, Alberta is the aggregate leader at 6:02.10.
