
Dallas Stars centre Wyatt Johnston of Toronto, Ontario has been named the National Hockey League first star of the week for the week from November 24 to November 30. In four games, he had five goals and four assists for nine points.
Johnston was also a -1 with five power-play points, one game-winning goal, 13 shots on goal, one hit, and 12 faceoff wins, one takeaway and one giveaway. The hit and takeaway came in a 3-2 Stars win over the Seattle Kraken on November 26. The game-winning goal came in a 4-3 Stars win over the Utah Mammoth on November 28. Johnston scored on the power-play with one minute and 27 seconds left in the third period from Mikko Rantanen and Miro Heiskanen to break a 3-3 deadlock.
Johnston’s week also included two four point games. He had one goal and three assists for four points in an 8-3 Stars win over the Edmonton Oilers on November 25, and three goals and one assist for four points on Sunday in a 6-1 Stars win over the Ottawa Senators.
Johnston has been very effective on the power-play this season. He leads the NHL with 12 power-play goals. Johnston also has 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points during the season. He is a -4 with six penalty minutes, 18 power-play points, three game-winning goals, 75 shots on goal, 141 faceoff wins, 20 blocked shots, 10 hits, seven takeaways, and 15 giveaways.
The Stars currently have the second most points in the National Hockey League. With a record of 17 wins, five regulation losses and four losses in extra time, they have 38 points. The only team with more points are the Colorado Avalanche with 42.
