Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of Montreal, Quebec set the Blue Jays franchise record for most home runs in a postseason career with seven. He accomplish the feat on Tuesday in game four of the World Series, a 6-2 Blue Jays win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. With the win, the Blue Jays and Dodgers are tied at two games apiece in the best out of seven series.
Guerrero Jr. hit his seventh MLB postseason home run in the top of the third inning. It was a two-run home run that went 395 feet to left centerfield and gave the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead at the time. The home run was extra special because it came off of Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani, who could be considered the best complete player in Major League Baseball history.
The two Toronto Blue Jays who had six career MLB postseason home runs were Joe Carter and Jose Bautista. Carter’s three-run home run in game six of the 1993 World Series could be considered one of the most dramatic home runs in MLB history, as it was a walk-off home run that gave the Blue Jays an 8-6 win and captured Toronto’s second World Series title. Game five of the 2025 World Series is Wednesday.
