The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are in the 2025 Major League Soccer Cup Final. On Saturday, the Whitecaps made the final by beating San Diego FC 3-1 in the MLS Cup semifinal.

It was a memorable game for Brian White of Flemington, New Jersey as the American striker scored twice at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California. White scored in the eighth minute to open the scoring, and then in the second minute of injury time in the first half to put the Whitecaps up 3-0. Vancouver got the game-winning goal on an own goal by goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega of Mexico City, Mexico in the 11th minute. San Diego FC got their only goal from Hirving Lozano of Mexico City in the 60th minute. The Whitecaps then gained momentum in the 79th minute when Sisniega was given a red card. Sisniega was replaced by San Diego native Duran Ferree.

Vancouver will play Inter Miami CF in the MLS Cup Final on Saturday in Miami at 12:30 PM MT. The game can be seen on TSN. In the regular season, Inter Miami had 65 points (a record of 19 wins, seven losses and eight draws), while the Whitecaps had 63 points (a record of 18 wins, seven losses and nine draws).

This is the first time the Whitecaps are in the MLS Cup Final. Toronto FC has been the only Canadian team to be in the MLS Cup Final to date. They won in 2017, and lost in 2016 and 2019.
