
The Vancouver Whitecaps are in the final eight of the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. On Saturday, the Whitecaps beat FC Dallas two games to none in the best out of three series of the first round.
Vancouver initially beat FC Dallas 3-0 last Sunday at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. They then beat FC Dallas 4-2 on penalties after playing regulation and extra time at one goal apiece. Vancouver’s goal scorers a week ago were forward Daniel Rios, midfielder Thomas Muller, and midfielder Kenji Cabrera. Vancouver’s goal scorer in regulation against FC Dallas on Saturday was midfielder Ralph Priso of Toronto, Ontario. Then in penalties, the Vancouver goal scorers were Muller, Cabrera, midfielder Sebastian Berhalter and centre back Belal Halbouni of London, Ontario, who plays for the Syrian National Team internationally.
The Whitecaps will play the winner of Los Angeles FC and Austin FC in the Western Conference semifinals on the weekend of November 22 and 23. Los Angeles beat Austin 2-1 in their first game of the best of three series. In the second game, Los Angeles is leading Austin 3-1 at halftime. There is one other team that has qualified for the Conference semifinals. That is the Philadelphia Union in the East.
During the regular season, the Whitecaps finished in second place in the Western Conference with 63 points. They were only behind San Diego FC.
