
Tyler Mislawchuk of Oak Bluff, Manitoba won the silver medal at a World Cup men’s triathlon event in Saidia, Morocco on Sunday. For Mislawchuk, it was his seventh World Cup triathlon medal of his career.
Mislawchuk posted a second place time in Morocco of 1:45.58. Oliver Conway of Great Britain had a gold medal winning time of 1:45.53. John Reed of the United States won the bronze medal with a time of 1:46.11. Mislawchuk earned a medal by 51 seconds. Callum McClusky of Australia finished in fourth place with a time of 1:46.49.
Mislawchuk’s swim was the sixth fastest time at 18 minutes and six seconds. He then had a transition time from the water to the bike of 47 seconds. Mislawchuk then had a cycling time of 55 minutes and six seconds, a transition time from cycling to running of 31 seconds and a running time of 31 minutes and 28 seconds.
This was Mislawchuk’s first World Cup medal in two years when he won a silver medal in Huatulco, Mexico. His other five World Cup medals came in Antwerp, Belgium on June 17, 2018 (bronze), Mooloolaba, Australia on March 16, 2019 (gold), Huatulco on June 9, 2019 (gold), Huatulco on June 13, 2021 (gold), and Huatulco on June 19, 2022 (silver). Mislawchuk’s silver medal in Morocco will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
