
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in the seventh game of the 2025 National Hockey League Eastern Conference semifinals. On Friday night at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, the Maple Leafs defeated the Panthers 2-0. The best out of seven series is all deadlocked at three games apiece, with the seventh game to take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday.
The Maple Leafs who scored on Friday were Auston Matthews and Max Pacioretty. Three Canadians registered a point for the Maple Leafs. Mitch Marner of Markham, Ontario, had the lone helper on the game-winning goal scored by Matthews at 6:20 of the final period. Meanwhile, Bobby McMann of Wainwright, Alberta and Max Domi of Winnipeg, Manitoba had the assists on the insurance goal by Pacioretty with five minutes and 43 seconds left in the final frame.
Toronto also got a shutout from Joseph Woll. This was Woll’s first postseason shutout of his career.
It was a significant bounce back win for the Maple Leafs. In game five, the teamed was booed by Maple Leaf fans for their poor performance as they were clobbered by a score of 6-1 on home ice. The winner of the series will face the Carolina Hurricanes.
