Theo Johnson having a breakout NFL season as NY Giants’s number one tight end

The New York Giants have been the talk of the National Football League over the last month. The main reason is because of the emergence of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cameron Skattebo. The Giants only have a record of two wins and five losses. However, over the last month, they have upset the Los Angeles Chargers 21-18 and the defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles 34-17. Then on Sunday, they were involved in the most exciting game on the weekend, as they played the Denver Broncos in a nail biter. The Broncos came through with a tight 33-32 win.

We are also seeing the emergence of tight end Theo Johnson in New York. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba has 20 receptions for 192 receiving yards and four touchdown catches. Of the major score receptions, one touchdown catch came in a Giants win. Johnson had a three yard touchdown catch from Dart with two minutes and 49 seconds left in the third quarter on September 28 that put the Giants up 21-10 at the time.

One could argue that Johnson is seeing some extra looks because in the same Giants game against the Chargers, New York wide receiver Malik Nabers tore his meniscus and Anterior Cruciate Ligament. Since then, Johnson has had two touchdown catches in a Giants’s 26-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints on October 5, and a highlight reel 41 yard touchdown catch against the Broncos yesterday.
