Team Canada has won the silver medal at the 2026 World Men’s Curling Championships in Ogden, Utah on Saturday. The Canadian team comprised of skip Matt Dunstone of Winnipeg, Manitoba, third Colton Lott of Selkirk, Manitoba, second E.J. Harnden of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and lead Ryan Harnden of Sault. Ste. Marie.

In the gold medal game, Canada lost 9-6 to Sweden. For Swedish skip Niklas Edin, it was his eighth gold medal at the World Men’s Curling Championships with six gold medal game victories coming over Canada. Edin has beaten Brad Jacobs in 2013, Brad Gushue in 2018, in 2022 and in 2024, and Kevin Koe in 2019.

Scotland won the bronze medal game at the 2026 World Men’s Curling Championships. After losing 9-7 to Canada in the semifinals on Friday, they beat the United States 11-6 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dunstone will now be looking for another player to join his team. That is because E.J. Harnden is retiring at the age of 42. Harnden’s highlight was winning gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Lott, meanwhile, will now be joining his wife Kadriana at the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland from April 25 to May 2.

In other curling news, Kate Cameron will now be teaming up with Laurie St-Georges. Cameron will now represent Quebec.
