Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Sophiane Methot of Longueuil, Quebec won the bronze medal at the 2025 World Trampoline Championships in Pamplona, Spain on Sunday. This was Methot’s third career medal at the World Trampoline Championships. She previously won a bronze medal in 2017 in the individual event in Sofia, Bulgaria, and another bronze medal in the individual team event in 2019 in Tokyo, Japan alongside two-time Canadian Olympic gold medalist Rosie MacLennan of King, Ontario, Samantha Smith of Toronto, Ontario, and Sarah Milette of Greenfield Park, Quebec.

Methot posted a score in the final of 56.81 points. Yicheng Hu of China won the gold medal with a score of 57.35 points. Hikaru Mori of Japan won the silver medal with a score of 57.32 points. Methot reached the podium by three one-hundredths of a point. Xueying Zhu of China finished in fourth place with a score of 56.78 points.

This was Canada’s only medal at the World Trampoline Championships. When Methot won her Olympic medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, she posted a score of 55.65 points. MacLennan’s Olympic gold medals in women’s trampoline came at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Methot’s bronze medal at the 2025 World Trampoline Championships will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
