Scottie Barnes made Toronto Raptors history on Sunday as he tied the Raptors record for the most rebounds in a game with 25. He accomplished the feat in a 141-127 Raptors overtime win over the Golden State Warriors at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
Barnes had 16 defensive rebounds and nine offensive rebounds. The only other Raptors player with 25 rebounds in a game was Bismack Biyombo in a 101-94 Toronto win over the Indiana Pacers on March 17, 2016. Barnes’s 25 rebounds are also the most in one game in the NBA this season. Andre Drummond had the previous high as he had 24 boards for the Philadelphia 76ers in a 127-117 76ers loss to the Miami Heat on November 23.
It was also a memorable game for Barnes as he recorded the seventh triple double of his career. He also had 23 points and 10 assists. Barnes had three steals, one block and was a +24.
For the season, Barnes is averaging 19.3 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per game, 1.5 blocks per game, and 1.3 steals per game. He had a field goal percentage of .507, three point percentage of .354 and a free throw percentage of .828. The Raptors improved to a record of 19 wins and 14 losses. That is the fourth best record in the Eastern Conference.
