
According to 3Down Nation on Wednesday, Rutgers University Scarlet Knights running back Antwan Raymond of Montreal, Quebec has won the 2025 Jon Cornish Trophy, which is presented to the top Canadian in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Raymond had 244 rushes for 1241 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He also had 18 catches for 225 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.
Raymond had 1466 all purpose yards (rushing yards and receiving yards). That was the second most in the Big Ten Conference. The only other player with more all purpose yards in the Conference was Nebraska Cornhuskers running back Emmett Johnson, who had 1821 all-purpose yards (1451 rushing yards and 370 receiving yards).
Twice this season, Raymond had multiple rushing touchdowns in Rutgers victories. He had rushing touchdowns of two and four yards on September 6 in a 45-17 win over Miami (Ohio), and rushing touchdowns from one and three yards on September 13 in a 60-10 win over Norfolk State.
Raymond is the third running back to win the award. Chuba Hubbard of Sherwood Park, Alberta won the award in 2019 while playing for Oklahoma State, and Chase Brown of London, Ontario won the award in 2022 while playing for Illinois. Hubbard and Brown are both in the National Football League. Hubbard is with the Carolina Panthers and Brown is with the Cincinnati Bengals.
