Raptors upset Thunder 103-101 as 12.5 point underdog

The Toronto Raptors beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday 103-101 in a significant upset. How significant? Well, the Raptors were a 12.5 point underdog, but still found a way to win the game by a single two point field goal at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center.

Six Raptors reached double digits in scoring. Immanuel Quickley led the Raptors in scoring with 23 points. He had the double-double, as he added 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, R.J. Barrett of Toronto, Ontario had 14 points, Brandon Ingram had 13 points, while Scottie Barnes, Grady Dick and Sandro Mamukelashvili had 10 points. Barnes also had a double-double as he added 11 rebounds.

It was Quickley who came up big in the clutch. With two minutes and five seconds left in the contest, the Thunder were leading 97-95. Canadian star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed a rare free throw for Oklahoma City, and Quickley got the defensive rebound. Then moments later, Quickley made a three point jump shot and put the Raptors up 98-97. Then Aaron Wiggins missed a three point shot of his own, and Quickley was there to get another defensive rebound. The Raptors went up 101-97 on a 23 foot three point shot.

With the win, the Raptors improved to a record of 29 wins and 19 losses. Oklahoma City fell to a record of 37 wins and 10 losses.
