Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario has won the 2025 Kioti Grand Slam of Curling event in Lake Tahoe, Nevada on Sunday. This was an historic Grand Slam of Curling event as it was the first time the Grand Slam of Curling had an event outside of Canada. In the final, Homan defeated Silvana Tironzini of Switzerland 7-4.

Tirinzoni actually had a 4-3 lead on Homan heading into the seventh end. That is when Homan picked up two points to take a 5-4 lead. Then in the eighth end, Homan’s team put an incredible amount of pressure on Tirinzoni, made it virtually impossible for Tirinzoni to tie the game, and as a result stole three points to win by four points.

Homan was superb throughout the week, as the reigning world champion went undefeated. She beat Ikue Kitazawa of Japan 9-4 on Tuesday, Mimosa Tabata of Japan 7-5 on Wednesday, Kaitlyn Lawes of Winnipeg, Manitoba 8-3 on Thursday, and Sayaka Yoshimura of Japan 10-3 on Friday. In the quarterfinals on Saturday, Homan beat Bo-bae Kang of South Korea 7-2, and then beat Anna Hasselborg of Sweden 6-3 in the semifinals.

Heading into the 2025 Canadian Curling Trials in Halifax, Nova Scotia. That is because she has been the only Canadian team this season that has put up significant results on the World Curling Tour.
