Rachel Homan and Matt Dunstone win 2025 PointsBet Invitational

One of the biggest Curling Canada tournaments of the fall season took place this past weekend at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary, Alberta. At the 2025 PointsBet Invitational, Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario won her third straight PointsBet Invitational by beating Corryn Brown of Kamloops, British Columbia in the final, by a score of 6-2. Meanwhile on the men’s side, Winnipeg’s Matt Dunstone was victorious after beating Sault. Ste. Marie, Ontario’s Brad Jacobs 6-4.

Homan’s team previously won the 2023 PointsBet Invitational final in Oakville, Ontario by beating Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba 9-7 and the 2024 PointsBet Invitational final in Calgary by beating Kayla Skrlik of Calgary 8-3. In Calgary this past weekend, Homan won all five of her games. In Pool A action, Homan beat Beth Peterson of Winnipeg, Manitoba 8-6, Kaitlyn Lawes of Winnipeg 8-3, Myla Plett of Edmonton, Alberta 12-4 and Christina Black of Halifax, Nova Scotia by a score of 9-5.

Dunstone had reached the 2022 PointsBet Invitational final in Fredericton, New Brunswick and the 2023 PointsBet Invitational final, but lost each time to Winnipeg’s Reid Carruthers. In the 2025 PointsBet Invitational, Dunstone won Pool B with a record of three wins and one loss. Dunstone’s Pool B wins were over Rylan Kleiter of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (5-3), Sam Mooibroek of Kitchener, Ontario (9-6), and Mike McEwen of Saskatoon (9-3).
