Team Canada has improved to a record of four wins and two losses at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in mixed doubles curling. On Saturday, Canada defeated the United States 7-2 after losing 6-2 to Sweden earlier on Saturday.

In the Canadian won over the United States, the Canadian team of John Morris of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario stole five consecutive points after Team Canada tied the score at two after four ends. In the sixth end, Canada actually stole a point when the United States had the power play, and then had three more points in the seventh end when American curler Vicky Persinger wracked off the guard with her final stone.

Canada is currently in a third place tie with Great Britain at four wins and two losses. However, Great Britain would have third place because they beat Canada 6-4 on Thursday (Wednesday evening in Canada). Italy leads at 6-0 and the Italians have already clinched a semifinal berth. Sweden is in second at 5-2. On Saturday evening in Canada (11 p.m. MT), Canada plays the Czech Republic. Then on Sunday morning, Canada plays Australia (5 a.m. MT)

Meanwhile, at the 2022 Scotties Tournament, we now know the four teams in the page playoff. New Brunswick plays Northern Ontario in the 1-2 game, while Team Canada plays Tracy Fleury’s wildcard team in the semifinals.
