The Edmonton Oilers are back in their series against the Los Angeles Kings in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. After playing two horrendous games from a defensive standpoint this past week in southern California, the Oilers won the third game of the best out of seven series by a score of 7-4 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. The Kings still lead the series two games to one, but it appears the Oilers have some momentum after a peculiar Kings challenge for goaltender interference led to the Oilers’s game-winning goal by Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario led the Oilers with three points as he had one goal and two assists. Five other Oilers had multi-point games. Connor Brown of Toronto, Ontario and Bouchard had two goals each, Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia had one goal and one assist for two points, and Zach Hyman of Toronto and Leon Draisaitl had two assists each. The other Oilers goal scorer was Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Oilers were down 4-3 to the Kings with six minutes and 42 seconds left when Kane made a gigantic impact. In a scramble in front of the net, the elite power forward made a huge difference in this series by tipping the puck into the net in only his second game of the season. The Kings did not believe it was a good goal, and led to the Oilers power play. Game four is Sunday night.
