
The 2024 Stanley Cup Finals finished on Monday with the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup by beating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in the seventh and deciding game. With the win, the Panthers won the best out of seven series four games to three. In all, there are nine Canadians who will have their name on the Stanley Cup. Let’s take a look at who those nine players are.
Sam Bennett–The centre from Holland Landing, Ontario had seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 19 postseason games.
Nick Cousins–The centre from Belleville, Ontario had one assist in 12 postseason games.
Aaron Ekblad–The defenseman from Windsor, Ontario had one goal and five assists for six points in 24 postseason games.
Ryan Lomberg–The left winger from Richmond Hill, Ontario had zero points in eight postseason games.
Steven Lorentz–The forward from Kitchener, Ontario had two goals and one assist for three points in 16 postseason games.
Brandon Montour–The defenseman from Brantford, Ontario had three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 24 postseason games.
Sam Reinhart–The centre from West Vancouver, British Columbia had 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in 24 playoff games. He also scored the game-winner in game seven.
Evan Rodrigues–The centre from Toronto, Ontario had seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 24 postseason games.
Carter Verhaeghe–The centre from Toronto had 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 24 postseason games. This is Verhaeghe’s second Stanley Cup as he won with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020.
