Nick Taylor of Winnipeg, Manitoba is still in contention at the 2026 Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii. Taylor shot a score of even par 70 in his Saturday round and is three strokes back of the leader, Davis Riley of the United States, who is at -12.

Taylor had four birdies and four bogeys in round three. He birdied the fourth, sixth, ninth, and 18th holes, and bogeyed the thirds, eighth, 11th and 12th holes.

Over the first 54 holes, Taylor is at -9. There is a three-way tie for second place. There you can find England’s Harry Hall, and Americans Chris Gotterup and Kevin Roy. There is then a three-way tie for fifth place. Along with Taylor is England’s John Parry and American Ryan Gerard.

This is the first PGA event of the 2026 golf season. The season normally starts the first weekend on the Hawaiian island in Maui. However this year’s tournament was cancelled due to drought issues. The course was simply not considered playable over a couple of months ago.

Taylor is actually the defending champion of the Sony Open. He posted a score of -16 last year and beat Nico Echavarria of Colombia in a playoff. Overall, Taylor has won five PGA Tour titles.
