Nic Demski records two touchdowns in Blue Bombers win over the Lions

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have beaten the British Columbia Lions 34-20 in week two of the Canadian Football League season on Thursday. The only Canadian player in the CFL in week two to record a touchdown on a winning team was Blue Bombers wide receiver Nic Demski of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Demski had four catches for 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Demski’s first touchdown catch was 20 yards from quarterback Chris Streveler at 2:29 of the first quarter to put the Blue Bombers up 7-0. Demski then completed the scoring with a four yard touchdown catch from Streveler with two minutes and 39 seconds left in the game.

In Demski’s career, he now has 37 touchdown catches. A total of 34 of them have come with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2018 to 2025, and an additional three touchdown catches came while Demski was with the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 2016 to 2017. In Demski’s career, he has 431 catches for 5337 receiving yards. Demski had a career-high 1030 receiving yards in 2024.

This was the Blue Bombers’s first game of the 2025 Canadian Football League regular season. Winnipeg had the bye in week one. The Blue Bombers went with Streveler as their week one quarterback. According to the Canadian Press on May 23, the Blue Bombers starting quarterback Zach Collaros was suspended one game for failing to respond to an offseason doping request.
