
Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia has been named the National Hockey League’s first star of the week for the week from November 3-9, 2025. In three games, MacKinnon had four goals and six assists for 10 points.
MacKinnon contributed to three Avalanche victories over this past week. He had one assist as he helped set up Victor Olofsson in a 3-2 Avalanche win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 4. MacKinnon also had two goals and two assists for four points on Saturday in a 9-1 Avalanche win over the Edmonton Oilers, and then two goals and three assists for five points in a 5-4 Avalanche win over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. MacKinnon was also a +3 with two penalty minutes, three power-play points, 16 shots on goal, 30 faceoff wins, one hit, and five giveaways.
For the season, MacKinnon leads the NHL in goals (14), points (29), and shots on goal (71). He also has 15 assists, is a +13 with 10 penalty minutes, eight power-play points, one game-winning goal, 174 faceoff wins, nine blocked shots, 14 hits, three takeaways, and 28 giveaways. The game-winning goal came in a 2-1 Avalanche win over the Utah Mammoth on October 9. MacKinnon broke a 1-1 tie from defenseman Cale Makar of Calgary, Alberta and Martin Necas at 2:52 of the extra period on the power-play.
Colorado meanwhile sits on top of the NHL standings with 25 points. They have a record of 10 wins, one regulation loss and five losses in extra time.
