Natalie Wilkie wins cross-country skiing bronze at 2026 Winter Paralympics

Team Canada has won its eighth medal at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. On Tuesday, Natalie Wilkie of Salmon Arm, British Columbia won the bronze medal in the women’s sprint classical standing cross country skiing event.

Wilkie had a time of three minutes, 40.2 seconds. Vilde Nilsen of Norway won the gold medal with a time of three minutes, 31.3 seconds. Sydney Peterson of the United States won the silver medal with a time of three minutes, 35.5 seconds. Wilkie reached the podium by 1.9 seconds. Kathrin Marchand of Germany was in fourth place with a time of three minutes, 42.1 seconds.

In her Paralympic career, Wilkie has now won 10 Winter Paralympic medals. She has won four gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals. Eight of the medals have been in para cross country skiing and two medals in para biathlon. This was Wilkie’s third medal at the 2026 Paralympics, as she won gold in the women’s individual standing para biathlon, and silver in the women’s sprint standing biathlon.

In wheelchair curling, Canada remained undefeated with a record of six wins and zero losses. They defeated China 9-4 and Sweden 6-5. In para ice hockey, Canada beat Czech Republic 4-1 to win Pool B. The Canadian goal scorers were James Dunn of Wallacetown, Ontario, Vincent Boily of Alma, Quebec, Tyler McGregor of Forest, Ontario and Liam Hickey of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
