The Medicine Hat Tigers remain undefeated at 2025 Memorial Cup in Rimouski, Quebec. On Monday, the Tigers defeated the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League champion Moncton Wildcats 3-1. With the win, the Tigers improved to a record of two wins and zero losses.
The Tigers scored one goal in all three periods. The Tigers star of the game was right winger Ryder Ritchie of Kelowna, British Columbia. Ritchie was involved in all three Tigers goals as he had two goals and one assist. Ritchie was one of two Tigers with a multi-point game. The other was left winger Gavin McKenna of Whitehorse, Yukon, who had one goal and one assist for two points. Ritchie was drafted in the second round, 45th overall, in the 2024 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild. McKenna, who has the potential to be the best hockey player ever to come from the Yukon, is the consensus first overall pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
This was the first of back-to-back games for the Tigers. They will play on Tuesday night against the Ontario Hockey League champion London Knights. Both the Tigers and Knights have identical records of two wins and zero losses. This will mean the winner of tonight’s game will go directly to the final on Sunday.
