The Medicine Hat Tigers are in the final of the 2025 Memorial Cup. On Tuesday at the Colisee Sun Life Financial in Rimouski, Quebec, the Tigers defeated the London Knights by a score of 3-1.

Prior to the contest, the Tigers and Knights had identical records of two wins and zero losses. That meant the winner of Tuesday’s game would finish in first place in the round robin and get a bye to Sunday’s final.

Right winger Ethan Neutens of Cochrane, Alberta led the Tigers in scoring with two points. He had one goal and one assist. Neutens is undrafted into the National Hockey League and is 20 years old. He is in his first year with the Tigers as he was traded from the Kelowna Rockets on November 14, 2024 with two draft picks for defenseman Nate Corbet. The draft picks the Tigers are receiving in the deal are the third round pick in 2025, and the fifth round pick in 2028.

The other two goal scorers for the Tigers were centre Mathew Ward of Kamloops, British Columbia, and right winger Ryder Ritchie of Calgary, Alberta. Ritchie is a second round pick, 45th overall, by the Minnesota Wild, in the 2024 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

On Wednesday, the Moncton Wildcats will face the Rimouski Oceanic. The loser is eliminated and will the winner will face the London Knights in the semifinal on Friday.
