Matt Dunstone of Winnipeg, Manitoba recorded a perfect game on Tuesday. Dunstone made all 20 of his shots in a 6-3 win over Braden Calvert in an all-Winnipeg battle at the 2026 Montana’s Brier in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Dunstone curls out of the Granite Curling Club and Calvert curls out of the Heather Curling Club.
This was Dunstone’s third perfect game while playing the skip position at the Canadian National Men’s Curling Championship. The other two came while he was skipping Team Saskatchewan at the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario. The first came in a 6-4 win over John Epping of Ontario, and the second came in a 5-4 win over Team Canada’s Kevin Koe.
Ironically, it was Koe who beat Dunstone on Tuesday night in St. John’s by a score of 7-6. It was an impressive win for the 51-year-old Koe, who remains undefeated at the Brier so far with a record of five wins and zero losses. Dunstone was leading Koe 5-4 after seven ends, when Koe scored two points in the eighth end, and won with the hammer in the 10th end.
There are three teams currently undefeated. The other two teams without a loss are Canada’s Brad Jacobs and Newfoundland’s Brad Gushue at 6-0. Jacobs plays Gushue on Thursday afternoon.
