
Mathis Beaulieu of Quebec City, Quebec won a World Cup men’s triathlon event in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on Saturday. For Beaulieu, it was his second World Cup men’s triathlon medal. He previously won a silver medal in Huatulco, Mexico on May 19, 2024.
Beaulieu had a third place time of one hour, 47 minutes, and eight seconds. Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger of France won the gold medal with a time of one hour, 46 minutes, and 43 seconds. Marton Kropko of Hungary won the silver medal with a time of one hour, 46 minutes and 58 seconds. Beaulieu reached the podium by 31 seconds. Thomas Hansennel of France finished in fourth place with a time of one hour, 47 minutes and 39 seconds.
Beaulieu’s swim was 18 minutes and 18 seconds. He then had a transition time from the mountain water to the bike of 30 seconds. Beaulieu’s cycling time was then 56 minutes and 34 seconds, before having a transition time to the run of 37 seconds. Beaulieu’s running time was 31 minutes and nine seconds. It was Beaulieu’s run that was mighty impressive. It was the second fastest run in the competition. The only triathlete who was faster was Hueber-Moosbrugger, who had a time of 30 minutes and 54 seconds. Beaulieu’s bronze medal will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
