
We now know who the Western Hockey League champion Medicine Hat Tigers will face in the 2025 Memorial Cup Final at the Sun Life Financial Colisee in Rimouski, Quebec on Sunday. The answer is the Ontario Hockey League champion London Knights.
On Friday, the Knights defeated the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Moncton Wildcats by a score of 5-2 in the Memorial Cup semifinal. Three Knights had multi-point games. Left winger Denver Barkey of Newmarket, Ontario, and right winger Easton Cowan of Strathroy, Ontario each had one goal and one assist for two points. Meanwhile, centre Jacob Julien of London, Ontario had two assists. Barkey was a third round pick, 93rd overall, in the 2023 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Cowan was a first round pick, 28th overall, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Julien was a fifth round pick, 146th overall, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
The three other Knights goal scorers were Landon Sim of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, left winger Blake Montgomery and Jesse Nurmi. Sim was the sixth round pick, 184th overall, in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. In round robin play on Tuesday, Medicine Hat defeated London by a score of 3-1.
