Offensively, the Capitals were led in scoring by centre Dylan Strome of Mississauga, Ontario. He had one goal and one assist for two points. Strome’s goal was the game-winning goal. It came with six minutes and 38 seconds left in the first period from left winger Anthony Beauvillier of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec and Martin Fehervary.

Of Thompson’s nine career NHL shutouts, five have come with the Capitals and four have come with the Vegas Golden Knights.
