
Logan Thompson of Calgary, Alberta recorded his first career National Hockey League shutout on Wednesday. The Vegas Golden Knights goaltender made 22 saves in a 3-0 win over the Seattle Kraken from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.
Thompson made seven saves in the first period, nine saves in the second period, and six saves in the third period. Daniel Sprong led the Kraken with four shots on goal.
Three Canadians scored for the Golden Knights in the contest. Shea Theodore of Langley, British Columbia notched his ninth goal of the season, Michael Amadio of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario scored his eighth goal of the season, and Jonathan Marchessault of Cap-Rouge, Quebec scored his 26th goal of the season. Marchessault was the only Golden Knights player with a multi-point game as he has had one goal and one assist for two points.
In 2021-22, Thompson has a record of six wins and four losses, with a goals against average of 2.61 and a save percentage of .920. This is his second season in Vegas after playing one game last season.
With the win, the Golden Knights improved to a record of 37 wins, 28 regulation losses and four losses in extra time for 78 points. They are in fourth place in the Pacific Division, and one point up on the Dallas Stars for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
