
Canadian Olympic gold medalist Kristen Campbell of Brandon, Manitoba recorded her fourth career Professional Women’s Hockey League shutout on Thursday. She accomplished the feat in a dominant 5-0 Vancouver Goldeneyes win over the Toronto Sceptres at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Campbell made 24 saves for the shutout. She had six saves in the first period, five saves in the second period, and 13 saves in the third period. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Emma Maltais of Burlington, Ontario led the Sceptres with four shots on goal. Offensively for the Goldeneyes, Sarah Nurse of Burlington, Ontario led the team with two goals for two points.
This season, Campbell has a record of two wins, two losses, a goals against average of 2.01 and a save percentage of .908. Campbell’s first win this season came on December 16 in a 2-1 Goldeneyes win over the Ottawa Charge.
All of Campbell’s prior shutouts came with Toronto. On January 26, 2024, she blanked New York 2-0. On February 16, 2024, Campbell shutout Montreal 3-0, and on March 8, 2024, she blanked Montreal again 3-0.
This was the second shutout in the history of the Goldeneyes. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Emerance Maschmeyer of Bruderheim, Alberta made 28 saves in a 4-0 Goldeneyes win over the New York Sirens on December 6, 2025. Campbell, Nurse and Maltais, and Maschmeyer all won a gold medal for Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
