The Seattle Kraken traded left winger Mason Marchment of Uxbridge, Ontario to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a fourth round pick in 2026 and a second round draft pick in 2027 according to Jonathan Tovell of The Hockey News on Friday. The Blue Jackets are Marchment’s fifth National Hockey League team. He has previously played one season with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2019-20), two seasons with the Florida Panthers (2020-22), three seasons with the Dallas Stars (2022 to 2025), and the first two months of this season with the Kraken.
Marchment had four goals and nine assists for 13 points with Seattle this season in 29 games. He was a -4 with 26 penalty minutes, one game-winning goal, three power-play points, 46 shots on goal, 10 faceoff wins, 10 blocked shots, 38 hits, nine takeaways, and 39 giveaways.
Marchment’s game-winning goal came in his first game with the Kraken, on October 9. He scored the game-winning goal at 3:50 of the second period from defenseman Brandon Montour of Ohsweken, Ontario to break a 1-1 deadlock in a 3-1 Kraken win over the Anaheim Ducks. Montour made NHL headlines this past week as he broke his hand in a game against the Colorado Avalanche a week ago, and as a result needed surgery. Meanwhile, the Kraken also beat the Ducks 3-1 on Monday night in Anaheim.
