Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba has won the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts from the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. On Sunday, Einarson’s Team Canada rink beat Manitoba’s Kaitlyn Lawes by a score of 4-3 in 11 ends.
The seven total points scored in the final tied the record for the least number of points by both teams in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts final. The previous record was set in 2025 in Thunder Bay, Ontario when Ottawa’s Rachel Homan defeated Einarson 6-1.
This was the fifth Scotties title for Einarson. She previously won in 2020 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in 2021 in Calgary, Alberta, in 2022 in Thunder Bay, and in 2023 in Kamloops, British Columbia.
It was also a record-tying number of Scotties for Einarson’s second Shannon Birchard of Winnipeg. Birchard has been part of all five Einarson teams that have won the Scotties, and the 2018 Scotties won by Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg. The other three curlers to have won six Scotties are Jennifer Jones, Nova Scotia’s Colleen Jones and Manitoba’s Jill Officer.
The win on Sunday was redemption for Einarson, as she was clobbered 10-2 by Lawes in Saturday’s 1-2 game. Einarson then beat Alberta’s Selena Sturmay 12-5 in the semifinal. Sturmay qualified for the semifinal by beating Nova Scotia’s Christina Black 8-4 in the 3-4 game.
Einarson’s team also included third Val Sweeting and lead Karlee Burgess. Einarson will now represent Canada at the 2026 Women’s World Curling Championship in Calgary from March 14-22.
