There is one day left in round robin play at the 2025 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Halifax, Nova Scotia. What we have seen so far is perfection from Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba.

On Tuesday, Einarson won two more games to improve to a record of six wins and zero losses. The two opponents she beat were the two Alberta teams. In the morning, she defeated Edmonton’s Selena Sturmay 9-7, and then in the evening draw, she defeated Calgary’s Kayla Skrlik 6-5. In Einarson’s win over Skrlik, she scored a point in the 10th end to break a 5-5 deadlock. On Wednesday, Einarson will play Ottawa’s Rachel Homan with the winner getting first place after the round robin. There is then a three-way tie for third place between Kaitlyn Lawes of Winnipeg, Sturmay and Christina Black of Halifax.

On the men’s side, there is a three-way tie for first place between Alberta’s Brad Jacobs, Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone, and Newfoundland’s Brad Gushue. All three teams have a record of four wins and one loss. Gushue and Jacobs are prior Olympic gold medalists. Gushue won gold at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin and Jacobs won gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. On Wednesday, Jacobs plays Gushue and Dunstone. Gushue and Dunstone also plays Mike McEwen of Saskatchewan.
