The Winnipeg Jets are one win away from reaching the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Wednesday, the Jets defeated the St. Louis Blues 5-3 to take a three games to two lead in the Western Conference first round playoff matchup.

One Canadian born player scored for the Jets on Wednesday. That was defenseman Dylan DeMelo of London, Ontario, who scored his first ever Stanley Cup playoff postseason marker from Kyle Connor and Vladislav Namestnikov. At the time, the Jets went up by a score of 3-2.

The other Jets goal scorers were Connor, Nino Niederreiter, Namestnikov and captain Adam Lowry. It should be noted that Lowry was born in the United States, but represents Canada internationally, as he grew up in Calgary, Alberta.

This was a bounce back game for Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. He struggled mightily in games three and four in the series in St. Louis, but got the win, by making 16 saves on 19 shots at the Canada Life Centre.

Game six will take place on Friday. It will be the only game in the Stanley Cup playoffs that evening. On Wednesday, the Washington Capitals eliminated the Montreal Canadiens and the Florida Panthers eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning.
