Jet Greaves records third career NHL shutout

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Jet Greaves of Cambridge, Ontario recorded his third career National Hockey League shutout on Thursday. He accomplished the feat in a 1-0 Columbus Blue Jackets win over the Dallas Stars at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Greaves had 28 saves for the shutout. He had six saves in the first period, 12 saves in the second period, and 10 saves in the third period. Defenseman Miro Heiskanen led the Blue Jackets with four shots on goal.

Meanwhile, Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski scored the only goal of the game. It came at 8:48 of the first period from defenseman Damon Severson of Melville, Saskatchewan and Isac Lundestrom.

Greaves’s first two NHL shutouts came with the Blue Jackets during the 2024-25 season. He made 22 saves in a 7-0 Blue Jackets win over the Washington Capitals on April 12 and 29 saves three days later in a 3-0 Blue Jackets win over the Philadelphia Flyers on April 15.

For the season, Greaves has a record of 15 wins, 12 regulation losses and six losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.62, save percentage of .910 and one shutout.

Columbus improves to a record of 23 wins, 20 regulation losses and seven losses in extra time for 53 points. They are six points back of the New York Islanders for a playoff spot.
